The Purple Martins pop in and out with ease and no starlings.

This starling is in the inside of a Startling Escape Module (SEM) trying to get out. 
(1 out of 4 was able to escape)
Keep in mind fighting for there life to get out is a lot different than trying to get in to a gourd or house.
